Being someone that lives in deep red Indiana where Trump won my district by 40 points I realized something recently. All the Trump flags that I have seen for years are gone. I don’t know if flying a Trump flag in the Biden years was a form of protest or what but I even noticed my neighbor that is a huge MAGA no longer has his Trump flag out. Maybe they’re waking up, maybe they no longer feel the need to protest I don’t know but it’s an interesting phenomenon that Ive noticed that they’re all gone

8. I live in a light blue neighborhood at the edge of red country. I used to see trucks with MAGA flags all the time,

one of the more memorable ones saying "Revenge Tour" on a truck that intentionally parked over 4 parking spaces at the store, making all of them unavailable. Another which drove down my street regularly with 6 or 7 flags. I haven't seen that truck (I wouldn't recognize it without the flags) or any flag on a truck in months. To me, this is a very good and very satisfying sign.

Haven't seen one in a very long time whereas there'd be at least two or three a day. Always pickup trucks where the driver felt the need to drive 20 miles over the speed limit and loud/obnoxious. Pretty much sums up a MAGA guy. I always felt that at least I knew who to avoid these days.

I live in MTG’s district and have seen Trump signs and flags gradually disappear over the last year. However, a local tire place started flying 3 Trump flags. They won’t get my business, but the next door Garage Door company recently removed theirs. Will see what happens when the full Epstein files come out.

In 2015 there were a lot of Trump/Pence Lawn Signs in our neighborhood, and in other neighborhoods,
In 2023 I only saw one in my driving around in the same areas.......

My guess is that a lot of voters didn't want anyone to know who they were voting for AGAIN........

One neighbor of mine, a dem, got a hold of a Trump yard sign and put it in his garage.....He said that way if all hell breaks loose, he can put it in his front yard, guaranteeing the MAGAots won't come after him. He knows that the dems would never come after him, but the MAGAots might if he didn't have the Trump lawn sign......

The other thing to consider, is they are just barely intelligent enough to not want to advertise that their IQ is less than 70.......

I would imagine that they are filled with fear. Instead of replacing those torn up poor quality flags, they are buying more ammo.

Born and raised in Indiana, I don't live there anymore for a reason. You stated one of them. I had to get out of there. Now I'm living in the bluest of the blue in the CA Bay Area. It's sunny again today so I am more than happy to stay here until I pass away. I love the Hoosiers in my home state but I just can't live among (all of) them.

Stand strong. What the Rs in Indiana did this week was impressive. They stopped the gerrymandering mid-decade. Thanks for sharing.

Many of the "Jesus wing" Christians I know are now talking more openly about Jesus' values and the importance of character, kindness, compassion, generosity, etc. Some mention Trump specifically, but it is clear that the "Jesus wing" of Christianity is coming to realize the vast harm that has been done to their religion by Trump and the Christian extremists who regard Trump as sent by God. This is clearly a big reversal from a year ago. I don't see how any real Christian can see what ICE is doing , the extrajudicial murders in Venezuelan waters, the cutting of programs like SNAP, WIC, Meals on Wheels and not be horrified.

For the first time ever, we have Republicans openly opposing Trump, even when they have not already announced retirement. In particular, the 4 who joined the discharge petition have made the calculation that Trump is losing his grip -- on reality and on the GOP and especially the MAGA cult.

It is not clear if MAGA will continue under that banner. It is clear that millions of MAGA people are really pissed at Trump, but that doesn't mean they are ready to return to the ranks of decent human beings. It appears that MTG, and possibly the other 3, are trying to position to take over the MAGA movement from Trump. My guess is that MAGA will splinter because there is no way Vance, Bannon, Miller and others would allow MTG to ascend without a big, ugly fight.

Don't be surprised if we start to see open warfare for who shall be the next King (or Queen) of MAGA. And in MTG's case, she seems to be trying to have it both ways, carving out an image of "mainstream , but still MAGA" for herself. And this leaves Vance in a peculiar position. Normally a President isn't considered lame duck until his last year, or maybe the last 2 years if he loses control of Congress. But already reporters are starting to ask Vance if Rubio is the enemy. Naturally they both have eyes on the prize. The usual case is that the retiring president makes it clear he expects his choice as VP to be his successor. No way Trump will do this for Vance, at least not in any useful time frame.

Now that MTG has started making the early moves, I think the 2028 race will be on full display early in 2026, because nobody will want to let MTG establish herself as front-runner.

I’m in indigo blue Ann Arbor, but this one house had two flag poles, Stars and Stripes on one, TSF above Israeli flag on the other. A couple months ago the TSF and Israeli were replaced with the Gadsden flag. Now that flag pole is totally gone, and just the Stars and Stripes are flying. I could count on one hand how many Trump flags I've seen in the last six months flying in someone's yard or from their house.

Even the old woman in Washington Township who had her house and yard festooned for years with Trump flags and signs has taken them down and has only a single flag with a blue cross on a white background flying in her yard.

I've only seen one pickup truck since June or July flying a Trump flag off the back bumper.

I can't remember the last time I saw anyone wearing a red MAGA hat except for one guy a couple of months ago. We used to see red MAGA hats all the time before then.
