If Democrats regain the White House, Trump's ballroom could be an early casualty

WASHINGTON — The East Wing that President Donald Trump tore down last month stood for decades.

The ballroom he’s building in its place could be gone not long after the first wave of guests sit down for dinner, depending on the outcome of the 2028 presidential race.

If elected, a Democratic president would have plenty to worry about aside from White House decor; war and peace can easily fill up a day. But a new president may face considerable pressure from within the Democratic fold to do something about a massive new ballroom forever linked to Trump.

Already, prominent Democratic officials are workshopping ideas for repurposing the space in favor of something that’s decidedly un-Trump. If any of these come to fruition, the $300 million ballroom that Trump birthed could take on a function that he never intended.

7. I think the building needs to remain as F47 leaves it, likely unfinished, repurposed to a museum of the last decade

Rebuilding the East Wing to "the way it was" is IMHO disrespectful to the past. The original causes and meanings behind the building as it was have been lost, physically destroyed. The scars should remain as necessary reminders. We need to remember what the Great Gilded Asshole did to our nation in under 10 years. The "ball room" should stand as testament, its gold plated donor credit plaque front-and-center as the first exhibit, a memorial to the vile oligarchs who caused this travesty. The president should no longer reside at the Whitehouse, but in nearby public housing.

The East Wing and Rose Garden have been well-remembered in many beautiful photographs, so display them prominently near photos of the demolition. Alas, they are but memories now, and they must be treasured as such. We also need exhibits for each person murdered and/or disappeared by this sick regime. I can think of no more fitting a place for these memorials than the monstrous disgusting "ball room" museum.

We The People must NEVER forget the expensive mistake of voting for fascists and criminals.

There are enough questions already about the "funding" for the ballroom. The majority of the people do not want a ballroom, especially one that is funded by special interests.

Stop it in court.

Trump has other things on his mind just now. Life may get more complicated for him soon, I hope.
