Musings: If I was Super Wealthy.... (and What would You Do? 👍)
🚨 A looong read! 😄 I'm having fun!
Well... I'd pay my taxes. Can one pay more to the government? Not for influrnce but to increase it's wealth (well, not under drumphf's admin!) to do good since there're only things a gov't (and not an individual) can do w massive resources of prople, snd experts!
I'm a moderate materialist. So I'd have a duplex in Manhattan over looking the lower Westside of Central Park (not in drumphf towers!) Full of Craft objects (some I'd make with wonderful materials), some art. Cool furniture.
A separate apt as an Art & Crafts Studio in the same building! Not going to just sit around on my butt, and do nothing! A bunch of Art & Craft supplies that I can no longer afford. , or never could afford! And sterling silver wire for jewelry making, if there's 22k & 23k gold wire that, too! [used to use sterling silver wire, now just plated].
And housekeepers, etc would be well paid!
A few scrumptious outfits:, the best cotton, leather, suede, a bit of silk, fine wool. Some bling: 22k - 23k gold , a few diamonds, rubies, emeralds, regular water pearls, and tahlian pearls, the best turquoise, and estate amethyst (i saw some once - gorgeous), opals, boulder opals (anazing!), moonstone! Not all together, 😄 I have taste! Probably design a bunch myself, and hire makers to fabricate!
Vacations to favorite places (the relatively few I've been, and new! New- that amazing new Egyptian museum, the blue mosque, Athens and the Greek Islands, Chicago, maybe Key West.!. Back to The Southwest, and San Francisco!
But enough about me. What can I do for others?! After all, my folks raised me right. Oh, so much, I'd hope!
I'd hire those who could help me figure how to generate more income to help more people, etc
The quickest, immediate thing- supplying food banks. Monies to disaster areas, and longer recovery.
Donations to Democrats, Planned Parenthood!
Hiring consultants to help with how-to fund good low, and really incone housing. Housing for the disabled. Improve or build safer homeless shelters in the short term.
Medical and Science research. Including more pre-natal research and assistance to Black mother's-to-be (an area I've read that is badly lacking).
Legal help for low income. Including for those fighting bad landlords (I've lived it!), and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund ( I once got off on their floor by accident. I knew about the general organization, but not them). While not legal defense, something protection wise to help protect Native American girls, and young women from kidnappings, and worse! And prosecuting those doing harm, and worse!
Some kind of funding for low income people in the Arts. Art supplies for low income public schools. Perhaps musical instruments, too.
Ohhh, boy, then we come to climate change. Yikes. More research to sequestered carbon. Disaster prevention m, and preparation. Stronger building materials. Rising sea level protective walls, closable storm surge walls.
Our Earth! Protecting more forests! More tree plantings w proper research. Cleaning up the oceans! Creating better biodegradable (to ?molecular level) plastics. Could there be stronger made glass to replace plastic containers?
Better renewable energies!
Help for endangered animals, and plants, here and around the world. Making more of those very cool, and protective under, and over passes on roadways for animal crossings.
More organic, and bio dynamic farming and gardens! Protecting, funding small, and moderate size farmers! I love Green Markets.
And, yes, I'm a space-nerd: so more funding for NASA. Robotic exploration, and human flights. And a new space station to replace the ISS!
OK, I think I've run outta steam for now!😄
