Okay, any ideas on how to fight against this:

Florida to adopt conservative-backed “Phoenix Declaration” in schools

ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida education leaders on Thursday approved a set of principles that would teach a conservative-backed vision of the United States.

The State Board of Education, which also approved social-studies changes intended to highlight ideological evils of communism, signed off on Florida becoming the first state to adopt the Heritage Foundation’s “Phoenix Declaration: An American Vision for Education.”

The declaration is a statement of principles described as fostering “a love of country,” teaching children to “seek the good, true and beautiful” and aiming for students to “achieve their full, God-given potential.”

Education Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas said the declaration establishes an “affiliation” with the Heritage Foundation and promotes what the board supports rather than what it opposes.

“We often call out what is problematic in education, pushing an ideology over indoctrination, whether that’s the instruction of sexual orientation and gender identity in elementary schools or divisive concepts like critical race theory and DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) that treats people differently based on the way God created them,” Kamoutsas said. “Well, this talks about what we want to see. We want to see parents empowered. We want to see curriculum, transparency, we want to see academic excellence in all of our students.”

I hope this current generation someday recovers from all this bullshit. You look at Gen X and how confused they got by Ronald and Nancy Reagan.

5. They intend to bury the history of White cruelty.

They did it to us, as well. I had no idea how evil the Southern states were, even in modern times, until the hard facts came out. I mean, I knew it was bad. But the way they taught us in school, it sounded like it happen so very long ago, and that the factors that led to the criminal things they did to minorities no longer existed.

That's the real crime. They are trying to desensitize people to make them believe that level of cruelty can't possibly exist in modern times, and guess what? It's happening right under our noses.

That doesn’t make it ancient history and we never resolved those issues. The southerners are still fighting the Civil War. I remember the 60s very well. They can’t cover it up. when you look at the ugliness of the white kids reaction to integration of schools in the south in the 60s, you see the same people who have grown into legislators and presidents, etc. The same damn people

There is a clause that parents should be the controlling factor. So all I can see happening is that parents who are opposed to this level of indoctrination need to get together and organize.

I would have to put them in a private liberal school or else homeschool them and neither option would have been easily done back when. FL used to teach the history of slavery and didn't try to sugarcoat it, for shame educators, for shame!

and say that the backers of this think they speak for God, which believers may well find blasphemous.

Point out that they are lying about DEI - it is literally about inclusion, and not "treating people differently". Not on are these people the ones trying to divide Americans, they're also breathtakingly stupid - or think that parents are, and are just manipulating them.

Is intended to perpetuate rather than correct inequalities which still persist.

When a political ideology supports the authoritarian subversion of our Constitution and cruelty towards the most vulnerable; idolizes a misogynist racist like Charlie Kirk; and tolerates Nazis in its ranks, it does not have the best interests of our nation's children in mind.

level. This corrupt pandering to conservative donors, who want to suck up our taxpayer dollars while indoctrinating students, has been supercharged under Gov. DeSatan. He enabled this rot, and cleaning up FL will take a huge, state-wide effort. The education privatizers began their efforts to take over public education, state by state, decades ago. Other states need to beware--they won't stop with Florida.
