With the USS Gerald R. Ford now in position in the Caribbean, the U.S. has reached its largest regional military buildup in generations, nearly a dozen Navy ships and roughly 12,000 sailors and Marines for Operation Wag-The-Dog er
Operation Southern Spear.
The Epstein House vote is on Tuesday.
So my bet is the assault begins Tuesday.
Anyone else think its happening on a different day/timeline? 🤔

(12,253 posts)Most of that 12,000 are sailors, the Iwo Jima Amphibious Group carries just the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), which comprises a Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron, a Combat Logistics Battalion, and a Battalion Landing Team.
1 or 2 Battalions are not enough.
In theory the 82nd Airborne could jump in and take a airport to fly in more troops but that's pretty risky without lots of prep getting air superiority & degrading air defenses & nearby forces.
