USA Today, Shut Down Poll: Everything that is wrong with the Media

Which party do Americans think won government shutdown negotiations? Republicans, new poll says

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/which-party-do-americans-think-won-government-shutdown-negotiations-republicans-new-poll-says/ar-AA1QxVrb

Okay, the Party that held all the cards got the most. Is that what this is about? Is it a sports event? Do they ask what Americans think about what the Republicans are doing to Social Programs and Healthcare? Are they asking if they want the GOP to win this confrontation? No they just want to portray the Repukes as winners and the Dems as losers.

Disgusting.

I wish they would just quit trying to keep score. What good does that do. And I think people lie on polls

When the Diabolical 8 decided to cave, this was in the cards. Lots of us said it. We said this will be seen as capitulation and a Democratic loss. And it is. We can "yeah, but" the issue all we like, but in politics, perception is reality, and our inability to understand that is to our detriment and it's why people like Schumer have to go. He doesn't understand it either.

So, the best we can do now is take the "L" and try to make a silk purse from a sow's ear.

I don't see the poll getting bad results, the GOP won when the 8 caved.
The point is, is this the issue? Who "won" the shutdown. Or should the media, maybe, just maybe, focus on the results of the shut down on the American people.
Was the main issues that the Nazis "won" in 1932, or the Khmer Rouge "won" in 1975, was that the important story?

selected by party leadership because they weren't up for reelection next year. Plenty of other Dems were ready for shutdown to end too.

it might be just a little important for the media to talk about what this win/lost means to America?
Or is who won the only thing worth talking about.

I despise the media on the whole. They are a huge part of the problem we are in.

I also thought as the shut down dragged on, this would be a lose/lose scenario for our side. If we reach a "deal," we lose because it would mean losing leverage/caving on ACA etc. But if we keep the govt shut down going, we lose because we start to lose support from the public that relies on gov aid and the ancillary programs that keep America running.

We caved in and got nothing basically out of that but we're supposed to come out the winners?

It's not about who won, it's about what it means to Americans.
I am not complaining about them saying Dems lost, I am complaining that they are only talking about win/lost like it's a baseball game.
