John Scalzi FTW

You mean the company that's currently being struck by its workers and the company that's currently being boycotted because of its terrible DEI policy rollbacks? Why not just call this the Chocolate Mint Racist Scab Frostie?

You want to drum up excitement?

Lower your damned prices and stop kissing th regime's ass.

But, I guess that is too difficult for them.

We used to call it 'Charbucks' for that very reason. (I still do. And, I can attest that I still have never had a drink from that place.)

I suppose Starbucks put some of their trademark burnt coffee into the bottom, ruining both the coffee and the confection.

Scalzi has a great way with words and is worth a look, especially if you like your escapist fiction on the preposterous side. My favorites are "Lock In" and "Head On," both read by Will Wheaton, probably because of the medical angle.

While too much medical stuff happened to my mom starting when I was 5+, and added in my dad when I was ?30 - making me often shy away from medical related fiction; Lock In was quite an interesting, good read!

17. Well my library doesn't seem to have it as an ebook....

I read it as a physical book from one of the biggest branches right near the flagship main library. I see i messed up the title Lock In is the correct one.

I guess at some point I'll call that branch, see if they still have it, and go borrow it.

and Will Wheaton's narration was well worth the price I paid for it. The characters came alive.
