(24,808 posts)If tRump abused/raped anyone, they can speak freely and openly, like EJ Carroll did.
Granted, they may not want to. Thats understandable. But any action by Bondi to quash the release of info is doomed. She could be undone by good old insider leaks from within the DOJ.

(672 posts)EJ Carrols story hardly caused a blip in his popularity and even after she won her civil case she is still not believed by an astounding number of Americans. I hope beyond hope that the whole story gets out and the players get their just desserts, but leaks so far have been minor and if it ends up being Bondis DOJs word against the many survivors statements, theres going to have to be a pretty major smoking gun. Epstein has been in the DOJs sites for a long time and leaks have been minimal. If it comes to competing testimonies or documents, in the age of AI and digital manipulation, its going to be hard to navigate even for those who seek the truth. I can imagine how easy it will be for the Trump administration to direct the media and publics attention to its preferred suspects. That being said, I believe any steps towards the truth raise the chance that more will be revealed. If more is revealed about Trumps connection, perhaps his support by republicans in the House and Senate will drop, for moral or political reasons, and the house of cards will start to fall. I also have to think some Republicans are thinking about an exit strategy as they surely cant ride this Trump train forever.
