It's a fundraising email as we near the election to point out that there has been movement in the Democrat's favor and apparently what their campaign has been doing has been working so they are asking for more support.

What exactly is the issue here...?

...a win there -- in a traditionally bright red district -- would be a huge repudiation of Trump and his MAGA fascists.

Most DUers want Democrats to communicate our message and the values we stand for and compete everywhere rather than just forfeit large swaths of America because they are deemed safe/likely Republican seats. They want to go back to Dean's "50-State Strategy." Are you not one of them?

It's about building a foundation and slowly chipping away at the margins rather than completely writing off large swaths of the electorate.

But using your rationale, it wasn't a waste of money because there weren't any other big elections to spend their money on anyway...
