Some thoughts on Dick Cheney's funeral:

1. Good riddance.
2. Did they push a stake through his heart to make sure he doesn't rise again?
3. Dubya's going bald.
4. Did the Cathedral do anything special to the Darth Vader gargoyle in Cheney's honor?
5. Bishop Budde was notably absent.
6. It makes me sick to think that Taco Tits will get the full State Funeral package once Satan decides to take him home. He deserves to be dumped into the ocean to feed the sharks.

1. I wouldn't be so sure about TSF getting the full "Forgiven for all," State Funeral experience...

Cheney had been gone from public office 17 years and was little heard from (except to join Liz and the Dems to commemorate those lost on Jan 6--the only two leading R's who did). So, that is foremost in the minds of younger people who thought about him at all. Trump will not have the luxury of temporal "amnesia." I'd bet he may well go in the next couple of years, and if he does, I sincerely doubt even an attempt at a state funeral will drown out the voices of those he harmed.

2. It's One of the Rituals For Elected Officials

Unless they choose to have a private funeral, you get the whole shebang in the National Cathedral. (One wonders if, as a Catholic, Biden's funeral will be at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception instead?) Past Presidents and VPs get this automatically.

for all'-type atmosphere" as Cheney's and that it would be the focus of major angry protests from those he has harmed." Yes, of course, there will be all the attempts at a state funeral, but marred by the TRUTH with demonstrations aplenty.

How does one put a stake through a mechanical heart? Do you remove it and put the stake through it? Or do you put the stake through the hole left when it's removed?

5. I think they finally harvested a real one for him

The mechanical heart was temporary.

I have the organ donor checked on my DL, I wish there was a blacklist for it. There are more than a few that I would not want to save.

He is going to have the biggest one in the world. Imagine the celebrations in the streets of New York, LA, Chicago, Phillie... not to mention London, Paris, etc. etc.
