DC shooting is proof you can't stop a shooting. (Original Post) Cattledog Nov 2025 OP
It was once told to me that anyone can be gotten to if the assailant is willing to die. nt MarineCombatEngineer Nov 2025 #1

Is to surround that location with ultra-tight security ((think security for Inaugurations)).

But then the gunman might choose to shoot up somewhere else.

Shootings can happen very fast. They can do plenty of damage before LE can stop it.

with the guns they kept for protection. They were shot by bad guys who broke in and stole them, by angry family members who know where to find them, and saddest of all, by themselves.

Someone a long time ago gave me some very sage advice after he'd taught me how to fight really dirty: "Don't get a gun. First, people are never afraid of getting shot. They're very afraid of getting cut, so if you need to carry any kind of weapon, make it a knife. Second, carrying a gun makes you over confident to the point you stop being as aware of your surroundings as you should be. Third, anyone who manages to surprise you will take that gun away from you and probably use your own gun to shoot you." I'd add that guns, like gold, are thief magnets. I've never carried a gun or had one in my home. I've never felt like I had to.

Welcome to real police work, Nat Guard guys. Wanted to or were forced to play cop? Sometimes that means getting shot and perhaps killed. Usually without nearly as much media air time as this particular shooting is getting.

First, the National Guard was supposed to stop crime and didn’t. Second, these young men were shot because Trump forced them to do police work instead of doing what they do.

What would Trump gain by doing this? Would he scream that he needs to send the National Guard to DC? They’re already there and they’re being shot.

it obviously can't be 'one of us'.

You know, all that 'war' and dehumanizing/resistance language directed at ICE and the fascists?

NBC reports "Afghan national" according to couple of non-US anglophone sources.

Sounds like he's planning to send in 500 more troops from what I've heard.

Convince a MAGA to take one for the team, and bingo! trump has an excuse to call Martial Law.

I would be skeptical of a regime linked false flag operation, but I can readily imagine militant extremists doing something like this to "accelerate" chaos and resulting possible violent crack down - like members of the Boogaloo movement who advocate inciting a race war.

To be a false flag now. More like an American ally that felt betrayed. And with the CIA background who knows what the back story is.
