So my wife and I are the working Poor? We make about $1,800 a month. If we are lucky $31,000 a year.

Our new place we are renting is about $475 a month. We had only been paying $300 a month. (We live in the rust belt--Western PA)

Yeah sometimes my wife and I have a little trouble making ends meet BUT I just figured we would be lumped into lower middle class.

It's amazing how far I can stretch our food dollars. I love my crockpot.

Middle class & small business are the two worst that come to mind..

Both are horribly mis-applied.

I've often thought of what I would do in your situation...

Move from the area? Cost money to do that, and where would you move.

Get gov assistance and hit a technical school? Time, money---not sure how old you are?

Again--- it's easy to make suggestions from where I sit--- but man it must be hard for you.

Keep fighting the fight.

Above the 2012 poverty line for a two-person family.

But, in reality, it all depends how much "stuff" you buy. If you buy a lot of "stuff", then yeah, you're probably working poor.
