VOIP landline connected to our Xfinity/Comcast modem will not receive incoming calls from AT&T. A(I)T&T Sucks!

I spent over 4 hours on the phone with Xfinity over 2 days and they said the problem is with Xfinity.

I couldn't get through to a live person w/ AT&T so went to one of their stores to try get help. The man said he'd spent over 7 hours trying to help a customer with the same problem then said the systems are incompatible. That's it! At least Xfinity tried to help!!

I just filed a complaint online w/ the FCC but am not hopeful.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

So, you can call AT&T, but AT&T cannot call you, is that correct? Tbone421 Wednesday #4
I can call AT&T numbers using our landline (Xfinity VOIP). It's only incoming calls originating from AT&T. Just rings... RamblingRose Wednesday #5

The whole thing does not make sense, however. Must be more to the story.

When I bought my first smart phone back around 2013, I went with ATT cuz at the time they were the only carrier where you could make a phone call & access the internet at the same time. IDK if that's still the case or if that might be the compatibility issue you mention, but it's why I went with them. Also, I got a scorchin' monthly deal cuz I bought my phone outright.

I don't have anything nice to say about Xfinity.

(Who you pay) cannot resolve it, cancel the service and complain that you are cancelling it due to faulty service, false advertising, or similar explanation. That’s all you can do. Then dispute any attempt for them to bill you for unfulfilled service.

Do you know what happens on the AT&T side when they try to call you? Do they get a call can't be connected message or a fast busy signal?

with minimal info, it sounds like either there is an issue with the call routing at one of the carriers, or possibly an issue with the modem you are using. If the issue is with the modem, your could try another modem.

It seems strange that Xfinity would say that the problem is on their end, but not provide a solution.

We first noticed the problem when the bank tried to call us then contacted us on our cell phone.

Since we have AT&T mobile, the person with Xfinity kept having us call the landline and said nothing showed up on their end. They even called me back the next day and we tried it all over again! That's when she blamed the call routing on AT&T. I can't even get a live person with AT&T to talk with!

All the Spam calls are getting through!
