By Hannah Parry and Amanda Castro
Democrat Aftyn Behn is already teasing another Congressional run after losing in Tuesday's special election for Tennessee's 7th congressional district to Republican Matt Van Epps.
Speaking on CNN, Behn said that she was planning to call her rival to congratulate him, and to let him know that she was looking forward "to maybe competing with him next year."
When pressed if that meant she was leaving the door open to run again, Behn responded, "Yeah, absolutely. I mean, obviously, I have to rest for a few days and circle back with my team, but we've we've run an amazing race, all things considered. The deck was stacked against us, especially in the deep red South. And we've narrow the margin. And for me, that is that is a celebration worth having."
What to Know:
The Tennessee race had tightened in recent weeks, drawing national attention as both parties fought for control of former Republican Rep. Mark Green's seat just west of Nashville.
