Pep Talk
There once was a meeting so long,
Where décor was the theme of the song.
From a ballroom brand new,
To construction noise, too
It all felt a bit
less than strong.
Trump circled again and again
From the tiles to election past-ten.
With a Biden or three
Thrown in casually
A conversational whirlpool pen.
Then he called on the Cabinet crew,
Two minutes, impress mego through!
Though the laughter was tight,
They all played their part right,
As cameras captured the view.
He boasted of health with great glee,
All Asjust ask any M.D.!
From the fat drug price drop
To a Nobel non-stop,
He insisted he ranked MVP.
A rally for sea-justice came
In the middle of this sprawling frame.
Like a wave on a shore
It arrived, then no more
Yet the mood somehow stayed much the same.
He dismissed all that warming crap
And the tiles in a White House lav.
Green? Bidens design!
Never liked that shade line!
Thus the meeting stayed slightly off-map.
The Times got a mention quite sour,
Losers! he cried from his tower.
The room gave a grin,
Thin and practiced within,
As the monologue rolled by the hour.
When the curtain was lifted aside,
The nation saw id, un-supplied
A hero-victim tale,
Both the storm and the gale,
With loyalty sworn nationwide.
