That's why he was proferring excuses for this.

Sounds more like he's afraid of Kegsbreath's accusations of "attacking our war fighters", even if there is no fucking war and they extrajudicially executed civilians.

5. Who was "proferring excuses?"

Himes said the attack was literally a specific type of attack in the DOD manual that is impermissible when abiding by the laws of armed conflict.

You are refusing to admit your OP has misinformation, and swat away anyone correcting you with "playing Ping Pong."

Rep Himes did NOT say the boat attack was the right thing. He said teh opposite.

It seems illegal and abominable and "the right thing". Is this just duckspeak?
Hegseth transcribed as headset, so these things have flaws.

---------------------
Can you tell us what you what are your approaches? >> Um, let me just say this

Uh, Admiral Bradley and the uh chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff did the right thing

Um, and uh, Admiral Bradley uh, defended uh, the decisions taken and Admiral Bradley has a storied career and he has my respect and he should have the respect of all of us.

But what I saw in that room was one of the most troubling things I've seen in my time in public service

Um, you have two individuals in clear distress uh without any means of uh locomotion with a destroyed vessel um who were killed by the United States. >> Can you wait

Can you tell us a little bit more about about exactly what was so troubling

What were some of the things that come up >> under the DoD manual uh for abiding by the laws of armed conflict

The specific example given of an impermissible action is attacking a shipwreck.

Any American who sees the video that I saw will see the United States military attacking shipwrecked sailors

Bad guys

Bad guys

but but attacking shipwrecked sailors

Now, there's a whole set of contextual items that the admiral explained

Yes, they were carrying drugs

Um they were not in the position to continue their mission in any way.

We don't we don't people will someday see this video and they will see that that video shows if you don't have the broader context an attack on shipwreck sailors

Who order? >> The last thing I'm going to say, the last thing I'm going to say is that uh the admiral confirmed that there had not been a kill them all order and that there was not an order to grant no quarter.

>> So, does it exonerate Hegseth? >> That's all I got. >> Do you think the video should be released publicly? >> I do. >> Do you expect hearings, sir?
