Netflix Cancelled Its Way Into Power. Now It HAS Warner Bros Too

"Hollywood is not overreacting. It is sounding the alarm because Netflix has a terrible pattern that stretches from creative abandonment to corporate carelessness. The company that just swallowed Warner cannot be trusted to protect legacy studios.

It cannot be trusted with workers.

It cannot be trusted with storytellers.

It cannot be trusted with the fans who made it powerful in the first place."

I think theyve given us some of the best and most original work available right now

Stranger Things
Squid Game
Bridgestone
The Crown
Orange is the New Black
Wednesday
Etc

Even shows that they are complaining about were given decent runs

Mindhunter got 2 seasons
Santa Clarita Diet got 3

And complaining about the password sharing policy? Do they just expect that one account should work for multiple households?

I've really liked a lot of their anime.

Castlevania and Devil May Cry were good. Resident Evil was good too and I'm not sure why they included it in the article..

The Witcher is one I forgot to put in my original post.

The movie and television industry has always been like this.

An internet search of "shows that were canceled too soon" will confirm this.

I'd prefer the series be cancelled when the story ends, than have Netflix make up 'stuff' because ratings are good.

12. Exactly. There's not really a good choice

Netflix is a hell of a lot better than Ellison or Bezos or Musk.

Also HBO cancels shows all the time. And didn’t WB cause issues in the industry a few years ago when they released new movies online instead of just in theaters? Nobody is perfect.

It could very well play out that way, but they don't have them (yet).

All corporate mergers are ultimately bad but the less bad choice is Netflix.

16. Meh....Netflix tried to create a lot of new content.

Sometimes they would hit it out of the park....most of the time, not so much, so they cancel it as it was not getting the numbers they wanted. Disney+ does this quite frequently. They did this in response to most studios taking content off their platform and creating their own streaming service.

They needed to purchase a studio catalog and have familiar IP's that they could create content for. Otherwise, they would go the way their old competitor Blockbuster did.
