There were agents who masked every trace,
Keeping hidden each name, badge, and face.
As the critics all say,
Such concealment, each day,
Makes accountability vanish without a place.

In the shadows they move, unassigned,
With identities never aligned.
For the people who fear
What they see disappear,
It's a system opaque by design.

“When rights are abused,” some contend,
“There's no record of who to defend.”
With no tags and no logs,
Just anonymity’s fogs,
Due process meets a troubling end.

"How they're chosen?" the skeptics all sigh—
“There are no clear answers to why.”
Unknown training, unknown pay,
Unknown deeds in the fray,
Leaves a danger too stark to deny.

So the worry grows heavy and stark,
That the practice is more than a quirk.
With no names to be known,
Every harm stands alone,
And the law cannot finish its work.
