https://www.rawstory.com/jasmine-crockett-2674384668/I just don't think an African American woman can win in Texas and apparently neither does the Republican Party.

(4,218 posts)I wish Jasmine could run for the Senate in almost any other state than Texas in 2026....
However, if any Democratic candidate could get all the non-voting Democrats
to actually VOTE, they might have a chance to finally WIN a statewide election
with the national winds at their back!
Texas Democrats will have to make that decision in their primary.

(12,655 posts)Colin Allred is a very good candidate. Jasmine Crockett is formidable. But James Talarico is an exceptional candidate to meet the current crisis. He stands out because he has a powerful, compelling, message against Christian Nationalism from the perspective of a devout Christian -- a message that is resonating.
At a time when almost every UnAmerican, UnChristian, Immoral, and Intolerable goal of the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025 Christian Nationalist agenda is being implemented by an insane, and wildly unpopular regime, James Talarico is a unique voice that is taking on Christian Nationalism EFFECTIVELY. He is laser-focused on perhaps the biggest threat we face in a way that Allred and Crockett just can't compete with.
I wish Ms. Crockett had chosen to put her considerable gifts to work on the campaign trail for Democratic House and Senate Candidates across this country, and then run for Ted Cruz's office in 2029.
