Not aimed at OP because I think this is a worthwhile post. More of a rant I guess. But, even though these surely are his sentiments , I’m guessing a bit of language analysis would point to someone else being the author. It’s amazing that even on the left, we give him credit for his more erudite posts on, I’m guessing, Truth Social. Trump didn’t say this. He may have posted it or allowed it to be posted on his behalf. It’s hard to even follow whether he said something in a speech or posted on social media or came from a White House spokesperson. Some days I’ll follow a bunch of “Trump said” snippets in the press only to find that they were all cherry-picked Truth Social posts. I think its net effect is that it creates the illusion that he’s presently more capable of coherent expression than he is, especially in the context of defending his physical prowess and intellectual acumenIt seems that we are so aghast at the content of his posts that there isn’t much interest in their origin. That being said, this kind of post from a POTUS is wild and disappointing either way.

He also keeps a shorter public schedule than he used to. Most of his public appearances fall between noon and 5 p.m., on average.

In the days that followed, the president appeared to fall asleep in a variety of official settings.

This is, to put it lightly, an unusually sensitive subject for Trump, and given his online harangue, it seems the Times touched a nerve.
