Trump demands tourists hand over five years of social media history to enter the US

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2025/12/10/tourists-will-have-to-provide-five-years-of-social-media/

The Trump administration has outlined a new plan to force tourists from dozens of countries to submit five years of social media history to be granted access to the US.

Foreign tourists will be forced to hand over five years of social media history to be granted entry into the US in what marks the latest move in Donald Trump's border crackdown.

The new "mandatory" requirement was detailed in a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) document on Tuesday outlining how the administration will comply with the president's demand for foreign visitors to be “vetted and screened to the maximum degree possible”. The new rule is set to affect visitors from dozens of countries, including the UK, France and Germany, as it will apply to those who benefit from the visa waiver programme.

If you aren't a citizen, it's probably best to just keep your mouth shut. Citizens are already being detained for being the wrong color. We're going to have to speak out more against this shit. The only way to stop it is to bring public opinion against it.

I have a story of a work friend's parents returning to the US from visiting their daughter in Vietnam. This is an old Dutch couple in their late 60s from West Michigan. ICE pulled them into a room at JFK and began grilling them about their social media posts about Trump. They held them for several hours with no food or water or access to bathrooms.

He can't seem to deal with REAL problems with airlines and airport traffic. This will slow air traffic down considerably,. Then he can go ahead with his idea to have airport gyms so all the soon-to-be well dressed travelers can be 'sweatin to the oldies'.

https://www.mediaite.com/media/news/sean-duffy-absolutely-roasted-online-after-pitching-workout-area-in-airports/]

This wasn’t the kind of “shredded” that Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy had in mind when he floated the idea of a workout area in major airports.

The curious moment came during Duffy’s press conference at Reagan International Airport on Monday, when he announced $1 billion in funding for grant programs “to make the experience better in airports.”

“I want to expand the play areas for kids,” Duffy said while flanked by Health and Human Services honcho Robert Kennedy Jr. “I want additional nursing pods for nursing mothers. Maybe I want a workout area where people might get some blood flowing, doing some pull-ups or some step-ups in the airport.”

Nor will Americans, such as myself, be allowed to visit a country if this is what will be expected of those wanting to visit here.

The day will come when this man is no longer the leader. Our respect and reputation around the world has been severely damaged.

Oh this is going to go over well this summer with all the foreign tourists coming over to watch their countries play in the World Cup. I have a friend who is from Brasil who married an American. Her father and brother want to come over to visit her but were told it will cost them $250 each just to enter the country.

The Trump admin also is charging foreign visitors a $100 surcharge each to visit national parks. Just think how many of these people visit Yellowstone and contribute to the local economy around the park. This will keep them away.

Who will review all that data? What damage will it cause to the economy? Who cares?! Authoritarian rulers are all about isolating the people and sweeping up the dissidents. It all started with the Wall, which I said had the real intent of keeping us in rather than keeping out immigrants.

I don't know where you're coming from there.

You probably don't realize the money and prestige
involved.

It's like a mirror of the society at large... with
the gamesmanship... which is fun and exciting...

but also with the money and corruption involved,
and the way cheating and going pro works.

Now with those high stakes involved, keeping
foreigners out of the tournaments is realy a
BFD.
