1. Picked up the last bone in ribeye roast at Aldi.

7.99/lb. 3.3 lbs. Not a lot of marbling, but a decent steak and a couple of short ribs for the price.
Sold out fast.

I looked at the prices a couple weeks ago. We've swallowed hard and paid for a 3-rib roast in years past. Cooked it medium rare and served it with Yorkshire Pudding and all the trimmings.

This year, I think it's going to be Lebanese chicken and rice. Or kielbasa and potatoes. I can do sides to coordinate with the main dish - I make a mean baba ghanoush and hummus. Or beets with the sausage and potatoes.

6. I got a real nice section of bone-in ham at Meijers today for only 79 cents a pound....

Gonna eat some of it, then freeze several sections for my
bean with bacon and ham and potato soup! One of the best things I cook...

I make that in huge batches to freeze, which gives me somewhere between
18 and 22 containers containing nearly 2 bowls of soup each...
