He flat out states that unwashed Americans are going to get between 1,000 to 2,000 dollars the first quarter of next year.
How is that? Why from the Big Ugly Death Bill's no tax on tips, that not everyone will get, no tax on overtime, and the Big lie, no tax on Social Security.
So Americans are going to get this money and according to Bessent they will take their new found riches and immediately change their W-4 deductions, change their deductions to withhold less, that's how they will make more money next year, meanwhile, rich bastards like him pay less in taxes.
This fucking rich ass moron has no clue what unwashed Americans go through, living paycheck to paycheck. The tariffs, the reduction of interest rates are going to push inflation higher, are going to deflate the value of the dollar to make it more expensive to buy those Chinese products at Walmart. Just wait until gasoline skyrockets.
Fuck you Bessent, you and your rich cronies got the tax breaks not us peons.

More importantly, these are vague commitments of funds to be invested in the United States. Much perhaps most of the money would have been invested here anyhow. Furthermore, it is not money going to the US government; it is money going to build factories, research centers, or retail outlets in various places around the country.
This distinction should be pretty obvious to anyone, but apparently Trump has gotten into his head that some vastly inflated sum from these commitments is actually coming into the US Treasury. This is a rather pathetic confusion for a US president, but thats actually the less tragic part of the story.
The more tragic part is that none of Trumps aides is able to set him straight. People like Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent or National Economic Advisor Kevin Hassett may not be brilliant intellects, but they know that Trump does not have trillions of dollars from foreign countries to play with, and that we are still running deficits that would ordinarily be considered very large. But they are too scared of Donald Trump to explain this to him. The question is whether they will allow Trump to make the deficits $600 billion larger based on Trumps belief in money that is not there.
This is not the first time Trump has based his policies on an imaginary world. His whole immigration policy is based on claims that Biden let in 20 million criminals and people released from mental hospitals. This hugely exaggerates the number of people who entered the country, and nearly all of them came here to work, not collect government benefits for which they are mostly ineligible. Very few had criminal records, and most of those were already in the deportation process.
But big money types mostly arent bothered by Trumps wrongheaded policies, except the relatively small number of businesses that rely on undocumented workers. The big money types do get bothered by very large deficits.

(3,624 posts)I think his minions are bypassing him regarding any and all actions. He claims ignorance on his own pardons, the seized ship, the attacks on Venezuela boats etc etc. He is completely oblivious to everything around him.

Imagine where the country would be if he actually possessed a working brain that could focus on anything other than self-aggrandizement and gluttony long enough to actually earn a college diploma?

Anyone who could own a home like this, which he sold for $18,250,000 when he was named Treasury Secretary, doesn't spend much time with the hoi polloi:
