he was a big firm attorney in DC before tapped for the court (I know, I worked at the same law firm - although I don't recall meeting him). It's not out of the realm of possibility given his age, income level at that time, and location of where he worked.

I've also seen the suggestion that members of the Court could have been threatened by Trump, which could also be a possibility.

These justices are not going to be impeached. Neither is Piss nor any of the cabinet. For the same reason noted above.
