Thanks for bringing back that memory. I haven't heard that song on the oldies radio stations. I enjoyed a much happier ending for a fugutive in a youtube video. I follow 'Fridays with Frank', a Pinal County, Arizona, deputy sheriff for the traffic division. In one video, he pulls over a guy who turns out to have warrants in other states, but not Arizona. Frank tells him, if he ever leaves Arizona, don't drive east because he has warrants in NM and don't drive west because he has warrants in CA. Frank advises, if he ever leaves, to go north to UT. However, Frank tells the driver that he will probably end up accumulating warrants there too because he is "the Johnny Appleseed of warrants." (Well, thank goodness the driver wasn't wanted by Indiana!) The video ends there, but it appears that the driver got off in AZ with a ticket or two. I don't know how to get the link, but to find the video I just Google 'Fridays with Frank Johnny Appleseed".
