Last night, ICE got an immigration judge to issue an order of removal for Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Judge Xinis issues TRO

Judge Xinis ordered Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s release in part bc ICE could not produce a final “order of removal” to deport him. So last night, they went out and got an immigration judge to issue one.

Now, Abrego is urging Xinis to block his redetention. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

WOW; a DEEPLY corrupt move by the immigration courts; clear collaboration with Trump admin officials to produce a specific result with zero notice to the party and ALSO in a situation where the judge facially lacks jurisdiction; the judge had denied a motion to reopen and the case is on appeal.

The immigration “judge” allegedly sua sponte — meaning without any request by a party, which is obviously a lie given the circumstances — “corrected” the 2019 order to fix a “scrivener’s error” and order Mr Abrego Garcia deported.

Not surprisingly, Judge Xinis blocked that. What a corrupt act.

Yes, it’s one they handpicked, and IIRC is actually a judge in management who only hears a small number of cases. It’s so flagrantly corrupt and a perversion of due process you almost have to laugh; then go off and file a bar complaint against the judge for violating ethics rules.

'Vindictive' is to soft a word for this particular prosecution.

they broke the legislature. Look at the deputy AG's that the courts have thrown out but they refuse to leave. Everything they do is just a big FU to every institution and every citizen.

a non-partisan legal org based on abilities. I am so glad we don't elect judges. Did you hear, we had another Conservative MP cross the aisle to join the liberals. One more and Carney will have a majority. Fingers crossed!

She couldn't do that.

Now that ICE has gone to that length, there is now cause to request a TRO.
