Have all these tech billionaires not seen what happens in dictator controlled states?
How many oligarchs have Putin and Xi seen off?
Not even counting faulty upper story windows.
Any one who steps too far out of line, and you don't know where that line is on any given day or they have talked to last, gets crushed.

These so called masters of the universe, smartest people in the building, don't seem to be good at looking ahead.

Putin and his pals are ex-KGB old school military dudes, paired up with the ex-soviet looters and strongmen. Trump and crew couldn't sniff their ass.

The techbros believe they are on the intellectual level of Putin, with the MAGA crazy people available to do their dirty work. The problem is they all think they are smarter than everyone else so there is a constant power struggle and tripping over their own crackpot plans.

Techbros are also ready to jump ship to New Zealand or some other private island if things go too far in the US. They have no loyality, except to themself.

This orange clown show and long term prospects are concerned. Not the broligarchs or the GOP or big business. Anyone enabling or sucking up.

How exactly do they think this is going to end, to work out long term, big picture?

Or are they just figuring they’ll all cash in while they can before getting out of Dodge and leaving the rest of us to wander the smoking ruins. I guess no one gives a rat’s about legacies etc.

It reveals a very superficial comprehension of how other humans think or of how life works.

It’s at the top that Idiocracy is prevailing..Guys like Lawrence Summers organizing society. It’s not hard scientists in the natural sciences or medicine or even hardware/civil/mechl or electrical engineering.

It’s with this alarmingly “dimensionally”(? Don’t know what the best term is) limited worldview of the software engineer but still with enough superficial number crunching to manipulate human behavior without bothering to understand oneself or others to see the whys of human behavior…How a person behaves is easy to track. Why is far more complicated.

And just as economics tries to suck away all the oxygen on the softer side in any material way without delivering much going strictly by the state of earth today, so does software engineering try to in the harder side and make it weirdly culturally political much like the GOP, over any more ecofriendly or scientific or actually economically labor friendly ways..it’s why I am filing a complaint where I live about the last 14 years and against my last employer in official channels later but post Trump. I can’t be expected to take this MAGA/MAHA contingent seriously.

All that is really too cringy to be worth saying. But well …shrug. I never had any mental health issues but political health issues..chronically.
