1. The "GOP Fight Over Bigotry" means they're fighting to see which side can be the most racist and bigoted.

Do they want to simply round up the "vermin" and deport them to offshore gulags, or send them all to the ovens?

That once-respectable news and opinion source has devolved into a trump-enabling machine of the worst sort.

I understand from people who still get it that the recipe section is the only thing that is worth getting from that rag.

It is not a thing. I have been completely embarrassed by the open bigotry of some white people, though. Sadly many of these people hold political power.

9. The discourse of "privilege," while probably capturing something true

was a rhetorical mistake - a failure. People like Robin D'Angelo went around the country giving talks that many people were forced to attend that discussed "white fragility," and promoted a story of privilege that many people simply have a hard time accepting. It was a trap, of course: the more you don't accept it, the truer it is! That's a recipe for disaster: it produced precisely the kind of environment that provided fertile ground for the TPUSA's and JD Vance's of the world.

I actually attended a D'Angelo talk during the tail-end of COVID (not mandatory, but strongly encouraged). It was a shitshow. People nodding along enthusiastically, but a lot of people - you could tell - just stewing, tight-lipped. I'm sure she made some valid points, but it was mostly invective. Nobody "had to apologize," but it sure felt like that's what was being asked for. Rhetorically, the privilege argument has been disastrous for left politics. Disastrous.

The not very hidden implication being that "The Left" does NOT love America.

Is it possible to love America when you hate so many people in it?

Aside from people and land, What IS America?

Isn't it the highest ideals articulated in our Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution -- especially the Bill of Rights?

Do you support Due Process for all persons?

How about freedom of conscience, which is why James Madison and other Founders stipulated the separation of church and state?

Is it possible to truly love America while joining the effort to destroy the Constitution's checks & balances our Founders knew were essential to prevent tyrannical power in the hands of a chief executive?

Isn't Constitutional rule of law and equality under the law, maintained by the integrity of all three branches of government checking and balancing each other, the absolutely necessary operating system that makes America truly great?

You and your ilk drape yourselves in the flag and speak in reverent terms about our Constitution and nation's Founders while giving your full support to the tyrant who is underming the precious legacy our Founders created and generations of true patriots died defending.
