Why the Epstein Files Were Released Right Before Christmas Adam Kinzinger

Why the Epstein Files Were Released Right Before Christmas

The Epstein files were released right before Christmas and that timing matters. Dumping controversial information on a holiday is one of the oldest tricks in politics, designed to limit attention and control the news cycle. In this video, we break down why this happens, how it works, and what the timing of this release suggests.

They dumped a small portion, largely the portion that they perceived would harm Democrats by the required date.

The juicy stuff is most definitely a Christmas dump - made after the deadline, on days when people are traveling or engaged in last minute preparing for Christmas.

That's really on Congress, passed 11/19/25 with deadline 5 days before Xmas. It was written by Massie (at least mostly) and I don't see him being a big supporter of Trump, (R) or not.

Everybody that was pro-Trump seemed against it until they realized that on this they would lose and signing the bill would be the lesser loss.

I wonder if a motion to move the deadline to 2 weeks later, 1/2/26, would have been put up for debate/vote had it been made. (Didn't hear that one was, but that would have been a blip and I suspect most pundits and congressfolk would have objected strenuously, but wasn't really paying close attention at the time.)
