A note of caution on Epstein victim claims

As millions of documents are released into the infosphere, a number of victim stories will emerge. Some of these will be opportunistic claims filed in response to the Epstein Victim's Compensation fund, created in late 2019 by attorneys hired by the estate to administer the fund, independent of the estate.

Opportunistic folks might have decided to file for a piece of a very big pie. Their claims will be included in the Epstein files being released, without clarity on whether they were legitimate, or just scammers. Take them with a huge grain of salt. The story about the 13 year old, and baby murder is pretty sus...

Here is the document detailing the workings of the fund

And I believe any nasty, immoral thing they say about him because that’s who he is.

The ones a after the establishment of the funds need at least rudimentary investigating.

But there are some imposters out there as well. Jumping on the imposter stories too quickly can muddy the real survivor stories. Which may be the intent.

13. The OP is ridiculous (and quite frankly disgusting)

Significant false claims would not have been made to the VCP (there is no evidence of any presented). Those claims would have been made to the FBI tip-line. The example the OP gives was a tip to the FBI tipline NOT the VCP.

At this point, few people will be concered about false claims against Epstein. His crimes against humanity are well documented already. What people want to get out of the files is who else was complicit but not yet held accountable.

Trump?

The law is very specific. Release all of the Epstein files with specific, limited, and individually justified redactions. Deadline a week ago.

11. The VCP was explicitly for claims against Epstein, NOT others

If someone had a claim against others, the VCP would not compensate them for that. Those claims should/whould have been made to law enforcement.

At this point, few people will be concered about false claims against Epstein. His crimes against humanity are well documented already. What people want to get out of the files is who else was complicit but not yet held accountable.

The claim of sexual abuse must be directed against Epstein.

The claims for this fund would not be against anyone other than Epstein. The claims were thoroughly investigated. Why you're so sure many of them are false tells more about you than anythng. No note of caution is needed.

There have been no public reports of widespread false claims successfully made against the program. The VCP administrator handled claims confidentially and reported potentially fraudulent activity to law enforcement. (and that would also be included in the files). The criticisms against the fund were primarily that they were protecting Epstein's Estate and denying legitimate claims.

The story about the 13 year old, and baby murder had absolutely nothing to do with this fund. That was reported to an FBI tip-line. Until you can identify a single claim from the files which supports your OP, I will consider your post an unjustified smear against the actual victims.

At this point, few people will be concered about false claims against Epstein. His crimes against humanity are well documented already. What people want to get out of the files is who else was complicit but not yet held accountable.

Of the records being released, false claims with no merit may be mixed in with the real victim evidence. The disposition of the filed claims is irrelevant. Anyone calling into the FBI or filing a claim will be in the documents dumps now occurring, whether valid or not.

The public needs to understand that the documents may contain some garbage that won't check out later. It's not a slam against victims; it's a caution against getting too caught up in messy and incomplete data.

Investigators like Julie K. Brown can probably sort through it better than individual citizens in the infosphere can.

False claims in the files will have absolutely nothing to do with the fund. If you're so sure such claims exist, then how about showing some evidence of false claims filed right after the fund was created? I won't be holding my breath...

However, the very announcement of a huge pot of money being available for victims, COULD motivate some folks to make up stories for money. Their made-up stories MAY surface in the massive data dumps coming out, whether they had any validity or not.
