New Zealand's Auckland welcomed 2026 first among major cities with a vibrant Sky Tower display over the harbor, followed by Sydney's famous 13-minute fireworks show honoring victims of recent violence with a minute of silence. Asia's anime, VTubers, and Korean creators joined in with group illustrations, drawings, and playful greetings, blending real-world spectacles with digital cheer as the new year wave continues.
