1. He was apparently about to call himself "the king of sales" but caught himself after "king." He's just

bragging about sales for Boeing that he takes credit for.

4. He's clearly talking about sales of Boeing jets. He would sometimes be called the king of real estate,

It's just the way he (and some other salesmen and businessmen) might talk while bragging.

And that's why no one in the media made a fuss about it.

- it's clear they know his "I'm the king" comment was his bragging about Boeing sales. They didn't miss the remark. They just understood exactly what he meant.
