CBS's Margaret Brennan asked Ilhan Omar if she would "tell Americans it's too dangerous to demonstrate...and document"

And although Omar answered the question perfectly, it was sickening to hear this as Brennan's very first question on Face The Nation this morning.

Video: https://www.cbsnews.com/video/rep-omar-says-it-is-not-acceptable-for-trump-others-to-make-early-judgments-on-ice-shooting/

From the CBS transcript:
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/ilhan-omar-minnesota-democrat-face-the-nation-transcript-01-11-2026/

MARGARET BRENNAN: And we're joined now by Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, who represents a large portion of that city. It's good to have you here.

REP. ILHAN OMAR: I represent the whole city. Thank you for having me.

MARGARET BRENNAN: Thank you. The Trump administration is actively telling the public that journalists are misleading them. You heard what was just reported from the scene. What we know is that Renee Macklin Good and her partner were protesters. They were driving around Minneapolis. They were recording what some of these ICE enforcement officers were doing. And the local police chief says Macklin Good blocked the street with her car. President Trump has said that the partner was a paid agitator, that's the phrase he used. Secretary Noem alleged this was an act of terrorism. Given how much heat there is and the administration's scrutiny, would you tell Americans it's too dangerous to demonstrate and to go out and document as she was doing?

REP. OMAR: I think it is really important for Americans to record to create the level of accountability and transparency that we need. What we have seen in Minneapolis is ICE agents oftentimes jumping out of their cars. These are unmarked cars. Oftentimes they're wearing a mask. They're approaching, running towards cars. They're pulling people out of those cars. Oftentimes these people are citizens. Oftentimes these people have documentation of their legal right to be in this country, and we know that DHS has lied repeatedly when it comes to these accounts, so it is even more important for there to be recording from eyewitnesses every single time these actions are taking place.

Never thought I'd hear Brennan suggest, apparently trying to get Omar to agree, that it's too dangerous to demonstrate or document what happens at demonstrations.

And Brennan saying Omar represents "a large portion of that city" was wrong and demeaning.

Can't help wondering if that dishonest propagandist Bari Weiss dictated much of what Brennan said here.

person who claims the title journalist by blaming Weiss. They are responsible for their own practice. They choose whether or not to participate.

I just think it’s dangerous to make assumptions in matters like this. Either way, Brennan is showing us something important here, because no matter their origin, the words are now hers.

That's really crappy reporting. Brennan is trying to create the false impression Renee Good was out cruising the streets of her very large city (Minneapolis covers about 59 squate miles), looking for trouble.

Renée Good was shot by an ICE agent on Portland Avenue in Minneapolis, just a few blocks from where she lived, while acting as a legal observer...in her own neighborhood.

She was not doing anything that should have warranted Immigration and or Customs enforcement
actions. The Trump Administration has been working non stop to blame her for HER own murder.

1) Why is it dangerous to demonstrate? 2) Why isn't the media, local and national, doing its duty.

I used to love the Sunday morning shows. Other than Stephanopoulos, none of the others are quick on their feet when it comes to pushing back. And when some of them decide to bow up on a guest, it’s usually against a Democrat. I often end up turning them off.

I'm checking to see if my cable provider enables me to block a single channel. I know there is a function to block channels you don't want children watching -- that may work to block CBS.

CNN lost me a while back. Cbs, it's now your turn to lose another viewer. Sad that new mgt. is throwing the network under the bus.
They will never get any of the 30% that grovel at tangerine man a he crams the lies down their throats. I will do my research and find some more MSM that are willing to fail the public by bypassing the truth.

a few days ago. On youtube, I happened to run across their "hail and farewell" end of the year segment about some of the notable ones we lost last year. It used to be decent. This year, I clicked it off when they honoured charlie kirk and his "chrstian message of love".

FUCK the craven bullshitting suckups.
