“Reports of a dramatic escalation in the use of deadly force by Iranian security forces have begun to trickle out of the country despite a severe communications blackout as authorities struggle to contain mass protests,” the Washington Post reports.

“The Center for Human Rights in Iran, based in New York, said it received eyewitness accounts and credible reports indicating that hundreds of protesters have been killed in Iran since the government cut off the country’s access to the internet on Thursday night.”

New York Times: “For a third night in a row, nationwide antigovernment protests rocked Iran, according to witnesses and videos verified by The New York Times, posted on BBC Persian and social media, even as the government intensified its crackdown and the military said it would take to the streets in response to the unrest.”

It would be a boon for the world if the Islamic Republic dictatorship goes down. No more concern about nuclear threats from Iran. No more concern about lowlife theocrats exporting terrorism from Iran. All to the good.

6. The massacre is well under way

It remains to be seen if the protestors will give up because of the killings, if the police/army will switch sides as happened during the protests that led to the overthrow of the Shah, if the US and/or Israel will do anything as many of the protestors are begging them to.

I'm not sure what either the US or Israel can do. Dropping bombs won't overthrow the theocracy.
