He could have been remembered as a cartoonist. Instead he will be remembered as a racist, misogynistic twitter troll who threw away his cartoon career for the con artist.

(7,459 posts)That's all I gotta say. I'll be nice about it I guess.
p.s.- I'll bet he told racist jokes at the watercooler.

(2,030 posts)We need more good news like this. Though he should've been offed years ago.

(2,923 posts)They did not say he was murdered, they responded to a post which said "he should've been offed years ago", which by most definitions means he should have been killed/murdered years ago.

kill; murder.

(71,950 posts)I guess Adams was starting to feel the scorching heat of his final destination, and tried to atone.

(11,130 posts)He passes into oblivion now, for me unmourned, unremembered, and never respected.

(113,433 posts)plight of countless others suffering from advanced prostate cancer. While I would not suggest he not get the treatment had he been a valid candidate ( his was clearly too advanced and that is why he didn't qualify to begin with, but ultimately wasted a spot when Trump intervened), he lived his life believing himself entitled and even more so in his last days.
I don't wish cancer on anyone, including Mr. Adams. But, that will not prevent me from remembering the worst about him, which others have amply defined.

(505 posts)Plush toys. Owned every book.
Still have the two plushies, but threw away all the books when I learned of Adams' smart-alec comments about non-Trump voters.
One less Trumpster will always be pleasing to mine eye. "Can you be so cruel?" "Yes, I can be very cruel. I have been taught by masters." ["The Heiress" movie]

(2,684 posts)After reading the national, local news and the opinion columns I always finished with the comics. I don't know if Dilbert was my favorite, but I did read it and enjoy it.
It was wild seeing someone so well known through the years come out so publically and unapologetically as a racist.
I had a couple exchanges with him on twitter. He doubled down as an ahole.

(448 posts)I wouldn't wish cancer on anyone regardless of political ideology. I'm glad his suffering has come to pass and I hope his friends and family find comfort and peace.

(9,450 posts)I knew he produced a cartoon that mystified me with its success. When I read it, Dilbert was splendidly mediocre at its best. I lost interest quickly.
I previously heard he became a vocal right winger. I never bothered to keep up with his views or thoughts as they didn't matter to me due to his lack of influence.
I guess he has some family or friends who might be grieving his passing. I feel sorry for their loss, but that seems like a standard social grace.
Moving on.

(13,863 posts)Did he step on a rake? Yep. Don't care. You have to take the totality of the person into account. It's part of growing up, imo. I think of most Trump voters as future Dem voters, frankly. If they come to regret voting for him (as some have and will), I don't see telling them, "But hey, you can't vote for us. We canceled you!"
