It is exceedingly rare, even in investigations of classified disclosures, for federal agents to search a reporters home.
F.B.I. agents conducted a search at the home of a Washington Post reporter on Wednesday, as part of what officials said was an investigation into the possible sharing of government secrets, according to people familiar with the matter.
It is unclear what reporting or what sensitive information prompted the inquiry and search. But it is exceedingly rare, even in investigations of classified disclosures, for federal agents to search a reporters home. Typically, such investigations are conducted by examining a reporters phone records or email data.
The reporter, Hannah Natanson, has spent the past year covering the Trump administrations effort to fire federal workers and redirect much of the work force to enforcing his agenda. Many of those employees shared with her their anger, frustration and fear with the changes the administration was making.
The Washington Post declined to immediately comment.

(854 posts)the wrong thing probably should start conducting yourself like you might be investigated, because you could be next.
Probably should read up on how they catch spies just to protect yourself against these lunatics.

(921 posts)Trump has turned their lives upside down. You can't go into a federal office without being recorded and monitored. They dare not say anything bad about the current regime. They are threatened everyday with losing benefits or their union representation. They've been accused of ripping off the tax payers I know, I was one of them. I was going to end up dying at work. I have heart issues and it wasn't going well for my stress level. I got out. I really do believe Trump is taking orders from Russia. I feel powerless to this systemic breakdown of our government. 3 more years for these workers seems like an eternity to me. I've worked for 3 agencies. They are all feeling the pain

(3,443 posts)... the center of attention, no matter what. He'll rage-rant into the nearest microphone at the slightest provocation. Or on his beloved "Truth" Social, in the middle of the night.
Until he is removed from office, silencing him is well nigh impossible. But if there's a concerted effort to adversely affect the income of those companies that advertise on his preferred media by boycotting their products, the message will get through to them soon enough. Start with those know to have contributed to his campaign, and his pet projects. Kick 'em in the wallet, and make it hurt.
America is already on life support, and will not survive much more of Trump's depredations, so vote like your life depends on it, because it literally does, and that's not hyperbole for effect; that's as real as a fuckin' heart attack.
