especially regarding the Epstein files. But it was stated in ordinary, non-vulgar language.

The UAW is absolutely right to say that it was Trump who spoke inappropriately for a modern workplace. As a side note, it's also inappropriate to have temper tantrums, throw ketchup at walls, and otherwise engage in similar childish acts, though these seem to be prized by the Stephen Cheung, Steven Miller, Pete Hegseth, JD Vance contingent of the current US government.

March 2020 (FCA Plant, Michigan): During a campaign stop, Biden argued with an autoworker about gun control, leading to some workers chanting "Trump" as he left the plant, as reported by CNN and Reuters.

I do not recall anyone losing their job over this….

UAW defends union member who heckled Trump at Detroit factory

The United Auto Workers defended a Michigan autoworker who heckled President Donald Trump during a Tuesday tour of a Ford plant.

“Workers should never be subjected to vulgar language or behavior by anyone — including the President of the United States,” UAW Vice President Laura Dickerson said in a Wednesday statement.

Dickerson said the autoworker “believes in freedom of speech, a principle we wholeheartedly embrace,” adding, “We stand with our membership in protecting their voice on the job.”....

The “pedophile protector” heckling incident isn’t the first time Trump has clashed with the UAW. Trump called UAW’s president a “dope” after the union endorsed former President Joe Biden during his reelection bid in 2024.

Dickerson promised that the union would “ensure that our member receives the full protection of all negotiated contract language safeguarding his job and his rights as a union member.”

A GoFundMe page set up for Sabula had raised over $360,000 as of Wednesday afternoon. Sabula was suspended following the incident, according to the page. He later told The Washington Post that he had been “targeted for political retribution” for “embarrassing” the president.

I believe that the max for now is in the neighborhood of $18,000. So, if no one contributed more than that amount it is not taxable. You can gift anyone you want without a taxable event having occurred.
At least that’s what I remember fr9m my accountant.

This is one reason Union membership is a valuable component of American politics.
The demise of Union power corresponds to.the demise of the American Dream.
"Right-To-Work" is a LIE. "You have no Rights and you work for ME." (Very popular in the South, where Labor has always been stolen.)
How fucking stupid do you have to be to think you can go up against a Corporation alone in a Labor dispute?
Fatally Stupid is the answer from the back of the book.
Your kids deserve better.

The Republican Party has Never done one good thing for the workers. Trump showed the true colors of the Republican Party. He just created a hostile work environment that would get a rank and file worker fired. I’m hoping this grievance is found that Ford violated the contract and the worker reinstated to his job and made whole with back pay.

Always have been; always will be. Years ago, my mother and I went to Chicago and as we pulled up to the hotel that we had booked, the workers were out front, picketing. I went into the vestibule where the pay phones were (this was in pre-cell phone days), called the front desk, cancelled my reservation and told them why. They said they would charge me for the room anyway and I said "Then I'll take it up with Mastercard." One of the picketers handed us a list of union hotels in the area and we ended up at one down the block which cost twice as much and wasn't nearly as nice, but to me, it was principle of the thing. The first thing I did when we got in the room was call Mastercard and explain the situation. I told them I never crossed a picket line in my life and I wasn't about to start then. Never heard anything more about it.

Besides never having crossed a picket line; I boycott Starbucks because they're anti-union (and I LOVE their chai tea lattes); I once booked a flight with a layover to Vegas because the pilots were on strike at the airline I always used that had non-stop flights; and when I drive past any picketers, I always honk and give them a thumbs up. I will ALWAYS support workers until the day I kick. Believe that.

And I get so disgusted when I hear people badmouthing unions. I want to ask those people do you have a 40 hour work week?; do you get paid overtime?; do you have health insurance?; do you have PTO? do you have a retirement account? do you have long and short term disability? Thank the unions, they got that for you. I have always believed that when the unions fight for their members, they fight for everybody. We all benefit.
