I'm telling ya folks, this country is headed towards an armed confrontation with these ICEholes,

I'm sad to say that I never thought I would see this in the America I served for, but, yet, because of Trumpedo, MAGAt's, spineless Repig Congress critters, here we are.

I'm usually the type of guy who views the world as a glass 1/2 full, but now, sad to say, my views have changed for, IMHO, the worst, my view on the US and the world in general, is now 1/2 empty.

I hope I'm wrong because, what I see right effing now, is armed conflict and it ain't gonna be pretty, and for those MAGAt's and ICEholes out there monitoring our posts, in no way am I advocating for this, quite the opposite, I don't want an armed uprising, I want sanity to return to The Constitution of the United States and the BoR.

It's tragically sad what's happening to our beloved Democracy by a minority of lunatics.

Just my rant for the night and I bid thee well a good night.

That we’re entering and to get ready. I don’t know anyone who could have even thought this before but when I read it, I’m reminded of the 1930’s in Europe and don’t want to personally experience that.

Of course it’s not the same, but too close for comfort.

Even the economy has eerie echoes. Prewar Berlin was similarly filled mostly with people that were blissfully unaware about what was happening around them and the true nature of the evil that was gunning for power and would later transpire.

We see it now. Restaurants are still filled up everywhere we see. The stock market is roaring. People are uneasy about their jobs but unemployment still is relatively low so it makes people blase and complacent. Even with incomplete data and numbers that are suspect, there are clear signals that people are in for a rude awakening, but I see a lot of giant egos performing jobs that tech giants are working to eliminate, and will likely be soon enough. Remember, in capitalism you’re not awarded to the best of your abilities, it’s whether it builds shareholder wealth.

It’s barely been one year since he’s been back in power.

Everywhere looks like a war zone. I was just in Turkiye for a few weeks and joked with a guide that Americans think Türkiye is dangerous, but kids don’t get shot in school. Of course they expect their government to be repressive, but we’ve never had to worry much about this-except for institutionalised racism that still exists. But we don’t expect the federal government to seriously trample us like other countries fear.
Then I visit the US to see family and Holy Heads-in-the-sand Batman! It’s like everything and nothing is wrong. I hate visiting to be honest. It’s like a total mindfuck

I’m glad they’re not currently operating here in my neck of the woods. I don’t get passionate about much, and I don’t think of myself as one of those “hero” guys. But if I saw some masked fuckwit doing what all, I might make a really unwise decision.

I’m not a rash individual but I can’t take much more of this, the protests I’ve attended here are milquetoast worth less than sewage runoff events. It’s going to take a black eye on one side or the other, but I’m afraid there are too many on their side who think we are just going to roll over and take it.

Sorry, I’m not. I couldn’t in 4th grade when the school bully tried to put me in my place, and I sure as shit can’t now.

What's happening isn't right.

If not, now that ICE are going door yo door they are bound to go to doors with MAGA on the other side. ICE is who they are do I'm sure they would treat them the same as they do snyone else. They won't believe people when the say they are trump supporters or not care. They have already grabbed and deported MAGAs. I'm hoping that makes a difference. Otherwise I think you are right.

But it could be a MAGA gun nut or militia type that barricades themselves in and starts shooting

To live and he doesn’t care about anyone but himself so if he has to go he will make sure we all go with him.

I am same type of person normally, positive side but watching this past year and no one stopping Trump in the whole world we are headed for a war of some kind like it or not.

Peaceful protests as fun as they are won’t do anything because the other side simply does not care.

When I heard Trump said fuck you at a factory and gave the finger, I never ever thought in my lifetime any president would do such a thing. Sure I knew all of them both sides said shit about each other in private but never in public. This tells me they will do anything.

You have these large groups of mostly poorly trained wannna be tough guys, heavily armed with full auto weapons, facing off with large crowds of very vocal protesters. It doesn't matter how it starts. Someone on either side fires off a round. Or just a large fire cracker pops. Then one of the ICE toughs pulls the trigger. And then it's what my old man use to call buck fever sets in. They all start firing until they run out of ammunition. We've all seen it with police shootings. Everyone of those weapons has a 30 round magazine. I will just let you imagine what the carnage will look like. And it will all be videoed and broadcast to the world live in real time.

There will be no way the MAGAts can spin that. I'm not sure what the reaction will be. People will certainly be horrified. It might trigger further violence. Trump could blame the protesters and declare martial law. Or those that have the power to stop all this might find sufficient courage to rise up in righteous anger to disband ICE and the rest of these paramilitaries and prosecute all of the guilty parties. I would hope for the latter.

I'm with MCE. I don't want to see anything like this happen. But right now I feel like it's close to inevitable.

I think the most likely source of armed conflict, though, will come from all of the teenage boys who carry Glock pistols with switches. That has been the source of considerable firearms activity here in the Twin Cities for a couple of years now. Kids of ages from 12-16 seem to use such firearms to engage in various activities, generally having to do with being disrespected by someone.

They do that because they are almost never prosecuted for doing so. There appears to be an almost endless supply of such handguns in the area.

So, that would be where I'd think such armed attacks against the ICE folks will originate.

In the seventies in my home town of Houston police went on a rampage killing people and throwing their bodies in the bayous. People started shooting back and police had to start riding three and four in each vehicle to defend themselves from the pissed off citizens. Police cars couldn't go into many parts of town without sustaining continued barrages of gunfire. The police backed down.

But this happened in a time when the feds were at least nominally interested in protecting citizens from rogue law enforcement and intervened on behalf of the citizens. This is not the case today. Unfortunately I believe the current regime will use any and all excuses (including outright fiction) to terrorize the population into submission. Dissent will be criminalized as will protest. Soccer moms will be killed while dropping off their kids at school and labelled as terrorists.

IMO the frog eventually jumps out of the pot.
