https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/september-13/union-troops-discover-rebels-antietam-battle-plan

"Union soldiers find a copy of Confederate General Robert E. Lee’s orders detailing the Confederates’ plan for the Antietam campaign near Frederick, Maryland. But Union General George B. McClellan was slow to act, and the advantage the intelligence provided was lost.

On the morning of September 13, the 27th Indiana rested in a meadow outside of Frederick, Maryland, which had served as the site of a Confederate camp a few days before. Sergeant John Bloss and Corporal Barton W. Mitchell found a piece of paper wrapped around three cigars. The paper was addressed to Confederate General D.H. Hill. Its title read, “Special Order No. 191, Headquarters, Army of Northern Virginia.” Realizing that they had discovered a copy of the Confederate operation plan, Bloss and Mitchell quickly passed it up the chain of command. By chance, the division adjutant general, Samuel Pittman, recognized the handwriting on the orders as that of a colleague from the prewar army, Robert Chilton, who was the adjutant general to Robert E. Lee.

Pittman took the order to McClellan. The Union commander had spent the previous week mystified by Lee’s operations, but now the Confederate plan was clear. He reportedly gloated, “Here is a paper with which if I cannot whip Bobbie Lee, I will be willing to go home.” McClellan now knew that Lee’s forces were split into five parts and scattered over a 30-mile stretch, with the Potomac River in between. At least eight miles separated each piece of Lee’s army, and McClellan was just a dozen miles from the nearest Confederate unit at South Mountain. Bruce Catton, the noted Civil War historian, observed that no general in the war “was ever given so fair a chance to destroy the opposing army one piece at a time.”

Yet McClellan squandered the opportunity. His initial jubilation was overtaken by his caution. He believed that Lee possessed a far greater number of troops than the Confederates actually had, despite the fact that the Maryland invasion resulted in a high rate of desertion among the Southerners. McClellan was also excruciatingly slow to respond to the information in the so-called Lost Order. He took 18 hours to set his army in motion, marching toward Turner’s Gap and Crampton’s Gap in South Mountain, a 50-mile long ridge that was part of the Blue Ridge Mountains.'... (more)

The AI tool used by ICE was tasked with looking for potential applicants with law enforcement experience to be placed into the agency’s “LEO program” — short for law enforcement officer — for new recruits who are already law enforcement officers. It requires four weeks of online training.

Applicants without law enforcement backgrounds are required to take an eight-week in-person course at ICE’s academy at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Georgia, which includes courses in immigration law and handling a gun, as well as physical fitness tests.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_DeepMind (No quotes for AI here, since there's no style manual on copied AI material)

Yes, ICE agents abandoned several vehicles in a Minneapolis neighborhood, and demonstrators who accessed the vehicles found documents, license plates, operational plans, and tactical gear inside.

This event occurred on or around January 15, 2026, amid heightened tensions and ongoing protests in Minneapolis following a fatal shooting by an ICE agent a week earlier. The agents reportedly left the vehicles after being "chased out" or swarmed by demonstrators, as reported by local accounts and shared in live-streamed footage online.

The items reportedly found in the abandoned vehicles included:
Identity cards
Paperwork
License plates (agents have reportedly been switching license plates to avoid detection)
Operational plans
Tactical gear
"Challenge coins"

Minneapolis police have noted that the surge in ICE activity has led to numerous 911 calls reporting abandoned cars blocking traffic, sometimes with pets inside, due to agents pulling people over and leaving their vehicles in the roadway. Local and state officials in Minnesota have accused the federal agents of violating state law by improperly using and swapping license plates.

This will be more evidence to bolster the lawsuit MN and Minneapolis filed against DHS, ICE, CBP. (link to the filing embedded in this link)

Here's the thing about "noncommittal." Probably AI can't post any of that online because the local accounts and shared live-streamed footage are in local police hands, and so those might be evidence, and so they can't be posted online when a DA might be in possession of sworn statements by locals and the footage itself. AI doesn't scrape from phones, as far as I can tell after reading around eleven books on AI, and one particularly about DeepMind AI. I'm pretty sure that footage has to be posted online by the owner first, then AI can find it.

It can also explain why local and national news media might not have access to what the DA has, either. Why? Because the DA's aware that there's a major state and cities lawsuit in progress in the district court.

57. It's some made up medallion that stands for high level regard by some group's boss.
Fri Jan 16, 2026, 12:08 PM
Jan 16

(sorry for the delay, I've been ridiculously busy...)

It's a custom-made medallion or token that bears an organization's insignia, emblem, or motto and is carried by its members. Originating in the military, these coins are primarily used to foster camaraderie, recognize special achievements, and prove membership in a specific unit or group. Like the felon's corporate or donor maga level; you win one by doing what they do.

In my overall view, it's part of longstanding right wing AND "elite" culture that DeepMind explains...

The "Challenge" Tradition
The "challenge" aspect refers to a lighthearted social game, usually in a bar or social setting.
A member initiates the challenge by displaying their coin, often by slamming it on a table or calling out a "coin check".
Everyone present who belongs to the group must immediately produce their own coin within a set time frame (usually 15 seconds).
Anyone unable to present their coin must buy a round of drinks or a meal for the challenger and all who had their coins ready.
If everyone produces their coin, the person who initiated the challenge buys the round.

Evolution and Modern Use
While deeply rooted in military tradition, the use of challenge coins has expanded significantly.
Military & Veterans:
Remains central to military culture, used across all branches of the U.S. armed forces.

First Responders:
Police departments, firefighters, and EMTs use them to recognize valor and teamwork.
Government & Politics:
U.S. Presidents and members of Congress have their own personalized coins to present to dignitaries and staff.

Civilian & Corporate:
Businesses, non-profits, sports teams, and social clubs increasingly adopt the tradition for employee recognition, team building, or as unique collectibles and business cards.
Today, challenge coins can be custom-made for virtually any group or occasion, with diverse designs, shapes, and finishes that tell the unique story of the recipients and their shared experiences.

To me it's all exclusionary, anti-democratic bullshit. But it's better to know about it than not.

Watching these Lawless ICE goons terrorize people... I was compelled to prayer... Let me share a vision.

Let EVERY HOUSE ON EVERY BLOCK set up their garden hoses in the Freezing Weather

LET EVERY HOUSEHOLD SPRAY WATER OUT OVER THE STREET IN THE FREEZING WEATHER.

LET EVERY HOUSEHOLD SCREAM "REMEMBER YOUR BAPTISM" as the water from every house yard cascades onto the ICE

Reminding the ICE AGENTS of their Baptism is a RELIGIOUS PRACTICE. IT IS NON VIOLENT. IT IS PEACEFUL.
But what might happen in the freezing weather to all that water cascading upon them.

Remember we have a Constitutional Right to Free Expression and RELIGIOUS PRACTICE.

IF EVERY HOUSEHOLD PARTICIPATES, on every block across the City of Minneapolis.
It is NOT trying to overthrow the Government. It is a reminder "That God Loves THEM and Their Neighbors"

It might bring a PAUSE to reflect upon what they are doing. If nothing else it gives ICE, an ICCEY RECEPTION.
