Are you "prepping"?

Lots of prepping going on over at Threads. You would have thought this was Y2K all over again, only with Nazis.

What are you doing to prepare for a Cheato induced societal collapse?

but hurricane season is coming and we get supplies to last at least two weeks.
It's sad that t has turned what was a decent country into trash.

Besides be fodder for the rich?

My only plan is to make sure that, when it happens, I will try to take a few of those animals with me. I certainly won't survive such a thing. I have a small car that might not make it to spring. We are living with the prospect of losing this apartment every month. I have nothing that anyone sees as valuable, including myself. I am no one.

What other plan can I have?

Many people have read have your posts and are affected by how you feel.
I don't have much money at all, but I will not be defined as unworthy.
My Mom always said to me, "The evil of today is sufficient thereof."
Take each day at a time, try to be positive.
I burst into tears practically everyday, overcome with worry.
We're ALL in this together. We have to stay strong.

But, reality says differently.

Basically, I am not as worried about the current state of things, as history shows this pretty much always happens with advancing cultures.

What I am extremely worried about is the fact that we don't seem to want to look into and address how this crap happened in the first place. We are not interested in addressing the fact that our very system has been so tweaked and corrupted that it needs to be overhauled.

My worry is that we will have learned nothing and will just let this happen again. And, all because around a thousand people would lose their highly placed socioeconomic position in our society and they would rather it all burn to the ground than accept that things have to change.

I was speaking to my SIL about this last night.

Also, just a heads up, I can all but guarantee that there will be a run on the banks if the orange asshole attacks. Add Cash to your reserves at home, if you haven't already.

The Black Panthers are very active now, walking around with arms in the street. In the past, seeing armed people walking around would alarm me. Now, it comforts me to see their bravery. And inspires me. I don't have guns, but as an old person, I would be willing to go out in a blaze of glory if it would help protect innocent people.

Not much.
We have approximately 3 to 5 months of dehydrated veggies along with pounds of dried beans and rices.
We have approximately well for water, but if power goes….

Proper prepping takes years to stock up correctly.

I keep a fairly substantial pile of cash available in the event of a short term Market crash.

I keep some food staples in good supply in case of supply line disruption.

...and maybe not so popular here, but I also have a decent supply of copper, brass and lead. I don't anticipate wide-spread violence, and I'm too old and fat to go all "WOLVERINES!" But I do wanna be able to hunker down if I need to. I live in a red state with some A-holes who would absolute terrorize "da libs" if they could get away with it.

I stockpile stuff that's on sale in order to stretch my budget, so I usually have extra non-perishable food and household necessities on hand. Especially if coupons are involved. I had no problem surviving the great COVID toilet paper shortage.

I have also been through my share of weather-related disasters, so I always try to keep enough supplies on hand to get me through future disasters. As for "societal collapse," there is no amount of "prepping" that will get anyone through that.
