That's just setting you up for a lawsuit, if someone else's kid or pet comes in contact with it. Even from people who would otherwise agree with your message.

Having said that, hidden cameras and automatic lights are perfectly fine, IMO.

I bring mine in every night. I had a few stolen during the 2024 campaign, two of my favorites, & I live on a busy corner! They must have just darted into my yard, snatched them, & driven away. The rest are now in my garage. It adds an element of fun, doing yard work in the summer with the garage door open.

The NOPE sign got the most interest, by far. Three or four people rang the bell to ask where we got it, & I saw pedestrians take pictures of it.

I have also wondered about extremely fragrant, cheap perfume. But I think one would have to douse oneself to avoid a charge of chemical warfare or something. But then if they grab you, it's literally on them.

and stealing your signs, having some mechanism that sprays cheap disgusting cologne on them when they do so could only allow them to charge you if they admitted to stealing the sign.

I remember seeing a video here on DU of someone who added tracking devices to their Democratic candidate signs and then tracking down the people who were stealing them (and finding them all in their trunk). Not that I'd do that with ICE!

But my favorite one for Minnesota if there was a way to make it work would be the automatic sprinkler - douse them with water in freezing weather - priceless!

Taped firecrackers to the inside…..but I couldn’t sleep that night thinking that the same butthead that would set fire to a sign would be the one who sued us for PTSD…..SHERIFFS office told us that unless we had a license plate the wouldn’t do anything. This after they left bullet holes in the Obama sign. This guys ICEGuy might live in my neighborhood!

Made to keep caterpillars from climbing up trees. Pretty cheap, and a smear along the edges of the sign will make them regret touching them.

Imagine when the ICE guy gets back into his black SUV with the rest of the boys and they start smelling the mess.

It could take a while for them to realize that one of their own didn't foul his britches.

He put up a Trump sign. While walking my dog on a retractable lease, he made a mad dash for the sign and let go a VERY loose poop. I immediately took him home and fixed him some chicken and rice. I also did tell him that he was a good boy.
I should add that a few days later the sign vanished. In the time he lived there no new Trump signs appeared.

At least it's fun to think about.

Mostly clear, and makes a sticky but not dangerous mess for anyone who grabbed it.

Stopped the damage/theft.

I would probably add glitter to the Vaseline now.

Looks a little photoshopped. The text is too crisp, black is too black, white is too white, and the text isn't quite formatted for space.

I could be wrong, but after doing that that kind of thing for 30 years, it looks a little off to me.

I know these signs popped up in DC but this one just looks fake.

I think maybe that makes the penalties bigger if you catch them on your property?

(This might be the first use case I've seen justifying installing a "Ring"-type doorbell (i.e., one that videos people who approach the home).
