For example, when they report that Donald Trump's favorable ratings are 51% or other numbers that seem "unreal" or "fake" to you? It does not seem possible that someone with ICE in their neighborhoods, harassing and abusing the citizen with their weapons and masks and no identities? How could that ever be popular with the majority of Americans? In my opinion, these are all fake numbers.
But, why?
In my opinion, it is pollsters' attempts to rescue the Republican Party in the midterms and upcoming elections. They are deeply unpopular and their policies are despised by a big majority of Americans in my opinion.
But if they can persuade enough people that what Trump and the Republicans are doing to our citizens, violating our rights of free speech and every other constitutional right, is all "normal", then they can keep the Republicans competitive in the upcoming races. If they can defend the outright lies about murder and other crimes, and convince enough people that everything they are doing is legal and necessary, then they will be able to protect the Republicans in the electoral process. They can remain a legitimate political Party.
But, we know they are not legitimate. They are in violation of our Constitution and should be severely punished at the polls. The pollsters should not be protecting them and hiding their crimes against humanity.

Pollsters aren't going to bat for politicians unless they're extremely partisan. And even then, candidates' and parties' own pollsters have a vested interest in accuracy so they know where they need to spend their money. Major pollsters value their good name and accuracy ratings more than a single election. They get a lot of money from people, corporations, and organizations outside of elections.
If you've shown yourself to be terrible at polling, who's going to want to hire you?
The problem is the same as it's ever been. People wishcast based on their own politics, and then get mad when reality doesn't turn out that way. I've said it in the past. I knew there was a problem on Election Day when the final Atlas Intel polls came in. That was my "Uh oh" moment. Momentum the media insisted was there (because of a comedian of all things) never materialized. "Latinos will take him down because of a joke only social media cares about!"
Hindsight should result in reality checks - not its denial. I keep waiting for this realization to arrive, but it just never seems to.
