And, if as you say, the President is against cuts to SS, Medicare and Medicaid, where is his proposal that he is urging an up or down vote if Congress cannot reach a deal?

Why haven't we seen it? Don't we deserve to see the details so that We The People can petition our representatives if we disagree with them?

you will move to your next imagining of something evil obama must certainly be planning on doing. can't wait to read it. have you made it up yet? and please make sure you have some kind of cylon/wookie chess metaphor to illustrate it.

Two cars speeding towards each other, the first one to flinch is the chicken.

It would be more relaxing for the passengers if the driver were to be in some personal danger from the crash but sadly that's not the case.

Oy ...

Three-dimensional chess was a cognitive model LONG before Spock.

But hey, just keep imagining we live in a perfect world where this President is all-powerful and can do anything ... now THAT is so 2009

My one question is: Is chained CPI on the table? Apparently, We The (little) People do not deserve an answer.

Rather, we get a 'strong resolute President who directs 'leaders' of congress to, DO IT NOW! Do what? Hammer out a 4000 page budget over the weekend to deliver to their members on Sunday night so they can vote on it on Monday without reading it (Let alone We The People reading it)? Because WE'RE ALL GOING TO GO OVER THE CL-I-I-I-I-I-I-F AND D-I-I-I-I-I-I-E ON MONDAY!

Obama and our Reps knew what was on the table back in 2011 but we only heard about that through strategic leaks and when unions, SS advocates, and others (including those on DU) tried to rally people to protest, we were told that we were Firebaggers and that the main street media always lies... we were mocked and ridiculed.

Ah well, our elected "leaders" have been lying to us for a year and a half (in order to, supposedly, play some master chess game) and, instead of having the opportunity for open debate and to petition our government, we are all led by the nose to the totally fictional FISCAL CLIFF!!!!

be quite a few non-plussed persons here tomorrow. I just hope the Republicans don't do what I fear the most; that is, walk back up the hill themselves with a sudden concern for the social contract. I'll be watching MTP tomorrow, even though I haven't watched tv in a long time.

Shit, it is starting to look like the R's are going to get nothing at all.

Hang on to your hat, but by all means, keep letting the White House know you don't accept any deal with mods to SS/Medicare/Medicaid. Have a little faith.

... of swapping around feel-goody photoshopped images?

You know...
... actually showing physical numbers in the street so that Obama knows he can just point outside and say, "The people appear to have spoken on this, already."

Think about it?

If things don't go your way, it'll be your own fault.
If things happen to go your way, it'll have nothing to do you.
And will have nothing to do with all of the people who just spent their time just swapping JPEG files.

Just saying.

Even that I am overseas.
Even that I am a 99%er.
I can't afford to come back to rally...

Of course he will give a lot away if the Republicans say they will finally vote for it.
It won't be everything but prepare for a shock if the fiscal cliff is avoided.
It won't be pretty.
