A senior White House official suggested that Jonathan Ross, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent who fatally shot Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, could pursue legal action for defamation against individuals who labeled him a “murderer” online and in public remarks.

“I think you may see him take action,” Tom Homan, the White House border czar, said on the Will Cain Country podcast, adding that Ross has gone into “hiding.”

Homan said he expects Ross to “wait for this investigation to pan itself out” before deciding on any legal steps, noting that social media posts have circulated with Ross’s image and “wanted for murder” language.

They would first have to somehow establish this is not a murderer and saying so is false (and it is completely valid that someone might believe what he did is muder based on what is publicly known and seen).
