winning issue for democrats? a check for everyone to refund donnie's illegal tariffs.

end his tariff nonsense and return to the baseline tariffs. figure out how much tariff revenue was collected above the previous baseline and refund the excess.

over the course of 4 years it may be something like $2,000 per person (if it's $175 billion per year, that's $700 billion over 4 years, figure 350 million americans, that's $2,000 per person).

That's $8,000 for a family of 4.

when critics and the media say where will the money come from to pay for it, just say it's already in the u.s. treasury, donnie already took it from your pockets. everybody paid. even those who only bought domestic products paid more because their competition was priced out or even eliminated.

as for details, let's say it phases out at an adjusted gross income over a certain level, eventually reduced to zero. No checks for billionaires, more for the people who need it and suffered the most under donnie's reign of error.

if there's a way to further adjust it punish magats, so much the better. maybe the amount is adjusted for cost of living so those in big cities get more.

i think the amounts involved will be big enough that with could really be a good issue for us.

again, if they ask where the money comes from, in addition to noting it's already been collected, it's also an excuse to go on a righteous rant about how republicans never pay for anything, always balloon the deficit, and how the media is always biased in their coverage of tax and budget matters.

But before cutting the cheque the US needs a full audit of how much trump, DOGE and the rest of them have actually stolen from the citizens. Then see what's left.

first things first, the entire white house gets completely searched and then razed and rebuilt. there's no way they wouldn't leave listening devices or worse.

Where will the money come from? Even with all the money collected, the US is still running huge deficits.

If SCOTUS overrules the tariffs, they will have to be refunded.

The billionaire tax cut must be repealed one Dems have the trifecta again, and budgets for the military, DHS, ICE severely cut so that agencies and services that actually benefit Americans can be fully funded.

Promising rebate checks to every household, when Trump could veto them, assuming the bill survives a filibuster in the senate, is a bad idea.

Let the republicans marinate in the fetid gravy of their own making.

If it somehow happened while he was in the White House, he would either kill it or steal credit. Either way the media would ruin it for us.

Seoarately, we should rein in billionaires. Wealth taxes, restrictions on political spending, remove the social security cap, minimum tax rate, etc. but those tend not to make good campaign issues, so best not to dwell on this stuff until we have the power.

We are getting to the point where may as well start running the countdown clock on when the big cut in our payments comes. Nobody is doing shit.

The company I am a trade compliance officer for needs our refunds. We've eaten the costs for the past year. We are on target to continue to do so through the end of Q2. If SCOTUS announces prior to that date - we need to be able to apply to CBP to have our tariffs refunded in full. I won't accept a 'go forward basis'. They must provide for us as Fed Gov did with the 301 Exlcusions for several years.

Inflationary. Subject to political hot button stuff, means testing, etc. Non-tax filers, etc.

Instead of this, after implementing a fair tax code, cancel the tariffs and invest in infrastructure.
