In between getting out of jail and getting in the middle of a parking lot brawl, Katt Williams took the time to talk to TMZ about "Django Unchained" ... and threatened to beat the crap out of Quentin Tarantino if he gets the chance.
Williams didn't voice his opinion in a polite way like Spike Lee did. First he threatened to punch QT in the face, then told us, "Qunetin Tarantino thinks he can say the N-word. But I checked with all of Ni**adom and nobody knows where he got his pass from. I hope he didn't get it from Samuel L. Jackson and Jamie Foxx cause they aren't going to help you when I see you."
When our photog tried to compare QT to Steven Spielberg (who made "Amistad" in 1997), Katt shot back, "Quentin Tarantino is no Steven Spielberg. Steven Spielberg doesn't wanna be black, Quentin Tarantino thinks he is. So when he meets a real ni**a, we'll see if he is or not."
Quentin, you've been warned.

(44,577 posts)P.S. If Jackson and Foxx had a problem with the N-word, I'm sure they would have either let Quentin know, or walked off the project.

(1,068 posts)Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... LAPD cops picked Katt up at his Woodland Hills home this morning, after an investigation from the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services concluded there were numerous guns and illegal drugs in the house that created a safety hazard for the kids.
Our sources say ... during the arrest various items were seized.
Katt is still in custody ... being held on $100,000 bail. As for the kids ... authorities have placed them in protective custody
We're told the case will go to the D.A. next week for possible felony child endangerment charges.
Looks like Katt Williams is a real idiot.

(5,169 posts)He played "Money Mike", the owner of a clothing store in the Ice Cube movie "Friday After Next".
He's done some stand-up as well.
Unless you are a fan of black and/or stoner humor, you probably haven't seen him.

(5,169 posts)I personally am not a fan of his. His act is mostly just loudness, gesturing, cussing and "The N word". But down in "The D" at least, he has a HUGE following.

(22,143 posts)But fuck this noise. Tarentino is a rock star director that makes great movies. You don't have to like the dialogue he writes but that's the way people really talk, particularly in the friggin 19th century.
Both Williams and Lee need to shut the fuck up.

(12,875 posts)QT's movies stopped being good in the late 90s.
I have no problem with artists getting a "n*** pass", but QT's pass expired after he shot his talent up his nose.
Quentin Tarantino should be subjected to 20 strokes of the lash, administered by Pootie Tang

(3,220 posts)But Katt Williams is a gigantic hack. Unoriginal, bland comedy that 1000's have done before, with swears thrown in an attempt to be edgy...

(10,454 posts)I realize that it's set in the years before the Civil War. Slaves were called n*****s, Negroes, darkies, etc. by the white folks back then. Unless I've missed something, QT did not come out and say the N-word. He wrote it into historically-accurate dialogue. Get over it.
I'll bet this dude doesn't want "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" to be taught in schools because of the use of the N-word either. Even though Jim is the smartest person in the book.

(54,065 posts)Acting like a sanctimonious "avenger" of black dignity will help Katt Williams, so kudos on the well played (if not exactly original) career move. As Don Draper says, if you can't sell the product, change the conversation.
Note to Tarantino: remember, in selecting your own celebrity feud, you never punch down.
It must be fun to be a celebrity.

(11,464 posts)He gets off further when his films make 100 million dollars.
He is NO David Lynch, a true artiste.
and he is a thief, and admits it. He steals from the best and makes a commercially better, but artistically lesser movie out of it.
One thing I like is he brings in new great talent from overseas who have been around, but not in English movies (like the fabulous Christoph Waltz) and older stars long forgotten
like Robert Forester and revitalize careers like John Travolta.
But his movies are smut. And he gets off on that being the truth.
And money in his bank.
And his movie go so far over the top, and are a rightwingers dream come true.
(How many times after "IB" have the nra folk used that logic about the holocaust? That lying logic.
And this movie is even more obnoxious.
Go see Lincoln the movie or the bin laden or the Streisand or the Paul Rudd Apatow movie.
in this day of CT school, I think i will not rush to see this smut from QT. With NO redeeming social value in it.
Spike Lee is 100% correct here.

(5 posts)And considering the kind of gory, violent, sensationalist crap thats been coming out of Hollywood for the past decade, QT's films are tame by comparison. But i agree with you on the David Lynch thing. Lynch is a pure genius.

(27,985 posts)We have only seen the trailers so far, but, in addition to being historically accurate dialog, I think it's probably a *good* thing he used it. Hear me out... I don't think he used it in a joking, friendly manner. It was in context with HORRIBLE atrocities that were being inflicted on people as they were beaten and treated in an unspeakable and shameful manner. I hope that anyone who sees that depicted on screen in the manner QT tends to do recoils in shock the next time they hear that word after seeing the film.
Maybe I am wrong.
