presumed himself to be "a better artist than has ever been seen before"---
as a narcissist ...

much like his modern U.S. apprentice regarding any issue that he can think of....

personally, I believe that Trump can SHIT HIS PANTS
"BETTER than anyone has EVER SEEN BEFORE, or ever SMELT!"

(even the little grandchildren cover their nose, but they are more honest than the rest of us!)

...the asshole psycho who started WW2?

And, how would that have altered the world we perceive now, could have been further altered from what it is now?

The term "starving artist" is pretty accurate. The old fine artists were supported by the church and rich people. Everyone knows that artists work several jobs just to get by, like actors. No one goes into the art field to get rich and famous. Hitler was no different.

He had a chip on his shoulder and it likely would have been the same whether or not he got into an art school and was able to support himself through his art or any other profession for that matter.

He was a crazy psychopath whether or not he made it as an artist. Tons of starving artists for hundreds of years didn't turn into mass murderers. He had a serious and separate mental illness. If he were a waiter, a train conductor, a plumber, etc he would still be a psycho. Everyone has some chip on their shoulder but they don't end up destroying cultures and societies due to it.

...you are most likely correct.

I tend to think of "art" as a force for good.

But maybe not in this case.

There is a lot of room for improvement, but as a beginner, he is not awful.
And slinking away from politics to paint is the best move he has ever done.
