WV-SEN: Capito files paperwork for re-election
CHARLESTON – Making it official, U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito filed for re-election Tuesday, but her only official primary challenger to date – state Sen. Tom Willis – says he can be a true conservative voice for West Virginians.
Capito, R-W.Va., is seeking her third six-year term in the U.S. Senate.
She filed her statement of candidacy Tuesday morning at the West Virginia Secretary of State’s Office at the State Capitol Building, joined by her husband Charles and two grandchildren, Eliza and Arch.
Speaking to reporters after her filing, Capito said she was ready to defend her seat and continue serving the people of West Virginia and build a better future for her grandchildren and future generations.
