I can’t believe how fast a country has become pro-fascist. I know about the polls, but tRump and Miller don’t give a shit. When the mustache got elevated he had only 40% or less.
We have armed militias kidnapping people, the Fourth Amendment is dead, SCOTUS said it’s alright to randomly stop and frisk people.
I’m of the belief that martial law will be called and elections cancelled.
All the big money corporations still back him 100%.

But what gets me is we have no way out if he just goes full fascist and declare himself above the law.

1. I would be incredibly surprised if the 2026 midterms are cancelled.

Authoritarian Strong Leaders love elections. How could they not, knowing that they will win?
North Korea, El Salvador, and Russia all have elections. And there are more than a few countries which have voted their democracy away by voting in an authoritarian Strong Leader.

As to whether the election will be "fair" we can already see that the Republican party is working overtime to ensure that there will not be "fair" elections. Gerrymandering to a level not seen before, disenfranchisement, even, perhaps, armed soldiers at the polls all look to be on the table.

And as for the corporations, well a big part of that is our fault. Right after Trump's failed coup attempt a number of corporations said that they would not financially support any candidates who had engaged in the coup or refused to accept the results of the election. But there was absolute silence from consumers (formerly called citizens) in support of these corporations. So gradually the corporations dropped their pledges. Certainly many corporations were, and are, supportive of Trump, and there are some corporations which (who, lol) are definitely against Trump.
I'm no great supporter of our brothers the corporations (thanks supremacist court) but the electorate of this country gets off too easily and in order to fix our ignorance and apathy we must first admit it.

Look at S. Korea. Their ex-president did the same and now may be executed. Meanwhile, crickets here.

I also think the orange POS will declare Martial Law in order to cancel the mid-term elections.

Who would stop him if he did? Congress? I don't think so. The Republicans control both houses of Congress, and they don't have the courage to stop that Orange A$$HOLE.

He has complete immunity to do whatever he wants....period!

6. They don't have enough manpower to enforce martial law all over

the country. States are in charge of the elections. They could defy any illegal order to stop elections. I don't think we are sunk yet. They may try to pull some crap at election time, but it will not work.
