I've long suspected that Trump, his family and select cronies are making money in the stock market with these tariffs. The pattern is familiar, Trump threaten tariffs, and other dire consequences, takes it right up to the brink, the markets plunge. A day or few later, he announces a "solution", or "agreement" has been reached, the markets soar. Those on the inside make a nice tidy bundle. Lather, rinse, repeat.
So how much did Trumpco make this time. I suspect the 1.4 billion figure for how much they've made over the past year, as reported by the NY Times, is just the tip of the fraudulent iceberg since we've already seen this scenario play out several times this year.

Per Putin's orders.
Yes the Trump crime family is stealing much more than we know about.

(54,241 posts)Might not get in on the whole move, but buy the dip when the pessimism seems extreme. The implication is he could let the market ride come election day and not much we can do about it.

The only one in the family savoy with stocks is Jared. He'd be the only one to look at.

(5,260 posts)A crazy volatile market like they're creating is great for options trading, without any special insider information. I'm (well, my portfolio; I have an excellent manager) up 36% year-to-date
as in the last 21 days. Virtually all options trades, especially in metals.
I can't say I'd recommend it if you manage your portfolio yourself, it's a whole different sport than stocks, but it's an incredibly lucrative market if you know how to work it..
